Hello lovely reader! I’m so glad you found me. I’m an Age Rebel and I really hope we can be friends.
Let me tell you why I’m an Age Rebel. Getting older is what we all do – if we’re lucky – but I’ve spent the last twenty years lying about my age to myself and everyone else. Why? Because I’m not ready to age. My thirties and forties flew by in a whirl of immaturity and now I finally find myself in a good place with a stable and loving home life.
I have a list of things I want to achieve thats as long as my arm. I haven’t got time to get older. I’m not ready to succumb to the whims of my hormones, gravity and the rest of society that aren’t middle aged women. I’m not ready to stop being active, attractive and engaged in living. I don’t want to become invisible because I’m past the age of forty. I refuse to be judged because I don’t fit in with the conventional view of women my age.
Human beings made it out of the water and lost their tails a while ago. We’ve marched on at pace since then and have put men on the moon. We can transplant pretty much any organ we need to replace, we’ve cloned sheep and decoded the human genome. So why is it, that when half the population of the world hit a ‘certain age’ its still very much a taboo topic. We are supposed to ‘grow old gracefully’. What does that even mean, for goodness’ sake?
I want to feel great and kick the backside out of life. Its the greatest gift I’m going to get. I accept that getting older is a necessity – the alternative is not an option, but I want to live it the best way I can. I still want to explore. I’m not going to go quietly. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only Rebel. We can’t actually STOP the clock of course but we CAN be totally fab RIGHT NOW.
If you’re also an age rebel then please lets do it together. I’m going to share tips here, so I’d love to her what you think of them and if you have a better one, please share it here.
